CHALLENGE: Sojourner Center’s growth and success, as well as their multiple services and audiences, all contributed to a web presence unbefitting the importance and quality of their work. An upcoming event provided the impetus to re-think their approach.
SOLUTION: Created a user experience that would simultaneously serve victims’ needs as well as serve the organization’s needs in the areas of research, awareness and fundraising. Focused on a mobile-first philosophy and a “Quick Exit” feature assured victims they can safely access the resources without fear of being caught. Simultaneously, such functionality speaks to the organization’s deep understanding of the issues, their circumstances and their danger, thereby increasing donor and research confidence. Deep immersion enabled the team to better structure their service offerings, including nomenclature and more intuitive navigation structures. The re-launch of the site led to the most successful fundraising event in their history, including both attendance and dollars raised.
